Communication may have several purposes - to inform, to entertain, to warn, to teach, to ask or to influence. And in earlier days, when man first began to communicate, we had our simple ways of doing so;
Hairy, prehistoric man A comes along, dragging his equally hairy, prehistoric wife by her hair, and meets with prehistoric, hairy individual B.
They greet each other by making funny noises with their noses, and hairy individual B burps to hairy individual A, asking him about the fine weather and so on. Thereafter they take turn raping hairy Harry A's wife, draw some ugly cave paintings and all is well...
