There are many tools we as designers can use to make our jobs easier, and maybe even make us better designers.
I always find it interesting what kind of tools other designers use – so, in case you feel likewise, I hereby present you with the full contents of my design toolbox!
A month ago, Tyler Brûlé released the first issue of ‘Monocle’ — a hardcopy magazine on global affairs, business, culture & design. I like Brûlé, I like the topics and Brûlé likes good design. How could this possibly go wrong?



Norwegian telecommunications firm, Telenor has long suffered from an image problem among the regular consumer in Norway. And though the situation hasn't had a great effect for the Nasdaq-based (teln) stockprice, Telenor has now found the time was right for a facelift.
I like cds. Not more than lp records; but more than mp3s... Yes they do all end up ripped onto my Mac and iPod, but the cd is still very special to me.
The reason being the cover.
What if all font authors had the possibility to embed all sorts of information into their fonts? I'm talking about licensing information, pricing, authorship et cetera.
SO; what to do? Well, we made a new product (we're talking product design here) - using all horrible PS filters we could find (like the ones with the good grades has done), we abandoned all which remotely resembles good taste and design, and left all focus on making it BUTT UGLY, and turned it in, in exchange for our own products.
