One iBook Down

| | Comments (0)
...none to go. I have finally been able to get my iBook to boot from the Tiger-DVD, and run Disk Utility. Guess what? I've got what my iBook so gently called a 'fatal hardware error'. What this means is... err... BAD!

My harddisk is dead. “S.M.A.R.T-status: failing”. Luckily, I've got my warranty on the HD.. Not that I have done anything to obscure the warrany on any other part of my mac... Pirating, cracking, modding graphics card to support screen-splitting and soforth are evil, and everyone who does anything of the sort goes to hell!

I Shot the Tiger!

My mac is dead. RIP. My poor iBook now refuses to boot. It gets to 'Starting OS X' before going blank blue (with a working cursor, but nothing to click on). Then, if I'm lucky it goes into the core UNIX mode, asking for login info.

Well, none of my userdetails (Admin nor Limited) is recognized by the mac. This is all following my Safari-problem.

ARRGH!!!

SOS The Tiger Took My Safari...

Ok, so I've finally gotten myself Tiger, and all is working perfectly (although it takes up a little too much of my RAM, so Dashboard, iTunes, InDesign CS, Mail and using Spotlight doesn't coop very well together...)

But what troubles me is the fact that Safari doesn't work anymore!!! Before upgrading to Tiger, I had the “Localized string not found”-problem. I didn't care to fix it, and now I've ended up with the “Safari chrash problem”. Could it get any worse?! YES!
