WWDC Keynote Roundup
Well, so the session on “designing websites for the iPhone” just made a lot more sense…
As does “Design innovations behind Apple.com”
Basically, Apple is telling us that, even though the iPhone ‘is running OS X’ - all you get to build your apps in, is HTML and AJAX. Great.
But apart from that news, which received a rather luke-warm reception, the keynote was mostly good stuff.
Nothing major regarding .Mac, though, and though the finder remake is good, it still isn’t spectacular.
The big news, however, was Safari. Now being ported to Windows, and bundled with every iTunes, download - Hopefully some of that IE-marketshare will go away.
So, but anyways - I'll just give you a short summary of the news…
- One year of Intel lineup!
- EA & EA Sports will be releasing games for the mac, simultaneously with the PC versions!
- 300 new Leopard features
- New desktop.
- Stacks
- Cover flow in Finder New sidebar in Finder
- Get files from remote macs (or PCs) via .Mac
- Spaces and Time machine rehash
- Tabbed chats in iChat
- Making fun of Steve Ballmer
- Safari with draggable tabs
- Safari for windows
- iPhone will support AJAX and advanced web features
