End of the Line
I finally purchased the last album from the late John R. Cash - “American V: A Hundred Highways” (Buy on Amazon | iTunes).
Words shouldn't be needed. It's one of the best Cash albums of all time.
And obviously others agree - this is the first album from Cash to make No1 on the US charts since the 1969 San Quentin-album.
Even though only two of the songs on the album is written by Cash himself - this legend makes every song his own, with his exceptional storytelling gifts.
The song ‘I Came to Believe’ - which speaks of so many aspects of this legends life - made me cry the first couple of times I heard it.
On the album Cash gives himself fully and honestly, reminding us all that the world truly lost one of the greatest musicians of our time, nearly three years ago.
No words can do this album justice. You simply need get this album.
As for Thom Yorke’s ‘The Eraser’ - Thom Yorke is impeccable - but the electronica-based accompaniment ruins the experience totally for me; and makes the album a total disappointment...

Nice review. :-) I’m a big Johnny Cash fan myself, though I don’t have this particular album. I own his “Ring of Fire” album and I’m extremely happy with that, but I only just got into his music a few months ago so I have to admit I’m not super familiar with the rest of his work. However, I enjoyed reading your review, dear nephew, and I’m glad to see that you have some decent taste when it comes to music (even though Thom Yorke obviously didn’t satisfy your musical needs). ;-)
Well, what are you still online, for, then? :P Go out and buy, buy, buy! No, but this is one seriously great album!
I usually like Thom Torke, as well, but I honestly can’t stand that accompaniment on this perticular album… Which is sad, because Thom Yorke himself is brilliant on this album (and what a beautiful album it is, design-wise). But still…
I’m simply waiting for the next one… :D
I actually couldn’t really get into Radiohead, but I really like Thom Yorke’s album. My boyfriend is crazy about Radiohead, so I have been pursuaded to put all their albums onto my mp3-player, but even though there are songs that I definitely ejoy lsitening to, I must say I prefer “The Eraser” over any of the Radiohead albums.
Anyway, I’ll be a frequent visiter on your website from now on. ;-) Ooh, and I loved that cat link! ^_^ I found another one too which was super-cute, the Kitty Cat Dance:

Enjoy, and keep up the good work.
