VAT the f..?!

| | Comments (0)

EU flag similar to nazi flagI hate the European Union. The latest suggestion from Brussels is that the songs I buy on the ITMS is going to cost me $0.1 extra!

I'm going back to illegal downloading!

The story is - right now, the VAT, or consuming tax, is charged to the country where the provider is located - not where the consumer is. This is why the European HQ of ITMS is in Luxemburg, where the VAT-rate is at 15%.

In Norway, however - the VAT rate is a whooping 25%. If this was a regulation imposed in any other domain than the economical one, Norway (who is not a member state of the union) but due to a special arrangement on economical issues, signed in the early ’90s.

Well, luckily - the companies does not want this regulation imposed either, as it will complicate the accounting, further increase prices and make the price differences between countries increase.

So, please, Apple-lawyers FIGHT THE GOOD BATTLE!
