Walking the Mac

| | Comments (2)

My Mac is growing tired of staying in the same spot on my desk all the time, it seems...

About half a year ago, my Mac Mini shut down, and wouldn't start back up again.

So I sent it in for repair; only to have the shop call me, telling me there was nothing wrong with it...

Now, that was an embarrasing phonecall...

Ok, so guess what? My Mac did the same thing today. Well; I knew I couldn't take it to repair... Bringing a perfectly good Mac to repair twice just wouldn't look good... So I tried it all... Plug out all wires, change socket, let it cool down, unplug the power adapter, et cetera...

When none of these solution worked I went to the last resort... I took my Mac for a walk. A trip to the basement, via the livingroom and back was all it needed. Plug back in, working as a charm!

Very strange indeed!

UPDATE: I probably shouldn't have written that... It just turned itself off again... I suppose it's angry at me for something...

UPDATE 2: Perhaps heat was the source of trouble afterall... A trip to the freezer did help, at least...

Heh, this is the perfect post to send to my friends who have doubts as to whether PCs are better than Macs! I remember when my own computer was running very slowly, so I kicked the tower and, well, it didn’t work.

Fantastic new Flickrs, by the way (or should I say Arnors?). ; )

:) Thanx!

Yeah, I think all PC users have tried to kick, through, strangle or hit their PC with a blunt object at some point… But who could hit a Mac?! That is the main difference… :P
