Newspaper News
I just finished a survey on the International Herald Tribune. For most parts it was just the normal stuff; also some indication of change..
As with many newspapers these days it seems...
The question, to be exact, was:
If the IHT were to require similar registration (i.e. name; country of residence, email address only: that is, no payment would be necessary), [...] how would registration on the IHT website impact your visitation?
Well, it's hard to rate on a 1-to-9-scale, that's for sure... For my personal taste; Newsvine has proven that I don't like logging in anywhere to check news...
Both Newsvine and IHT are great sites. Newsvine is great design-wise, and updates quickly. IHT is also perfectly well-designed; and what it lacks in speedy updates, it gains in journalistic quality...
Still, I find myself visiting IHT (not to mention BBC News), which don't require me to log in, far more often than Newsvine.
Not so much at home, as I'm always logged in, and with autologin... But at school I subconciously find I simply cannot be bothered with logging in anywhere...
As for paying for news on the web... err... no.
