Holocaust

A small extract of the cartoon, depicting the Holocaust.

The first drawing, caricaturing the Holocaust has been published to a website, connected to the newspaper Hamshahri.

So, as I published the Muhammad-cartoons; I'm also going to publish this one. And I think Jyllandsposten should as well...

As for the cartoon itself, I actually think it's a lot more funny than the Muhammad-catoons, as well...

The drawing is made by Michael Leunig; and both the EU, and the Arabic Liga has gone against the publication of the cartoon.

Accourding to Wikipedia, the cultural editor at Jyllandsposten, Flemming Rose, actually wanted to have the cartoon printed in Jyllandsposten, but the suggestion was rejected by the chief editor.

How come Jyllandsposten is so keen to defend freedom of speech, only when it comes to the Muslims?

The cartoon.

Well…I can’t imagine lighting an embassy on fire over something like this.

Plus that it’s ridiculous; Israel has nothing to do with this “cartoon case”. But whatever; if these Middle-Eastern countries want to stay in the middle ages, who am I to stop them…

Well, they are probably angry at the Danish jews… Both of them… :D

Leunig did not submit that cartoon for the competition, and is now considering suing. More here: http://www.theage.com.au e…

I knew he first published the cartoon in 2002, and I think the important thing isn’t that Leunig submitted it himself… Let me quote from the article you referred to:

“An unknown hoaxer submitted a Leunig cartoon to the competition, which was then published on the newspaper’s website.”

Now, first off, it wasn’t the newspapers website; it was a website associated with the newspaper; but anyway…

The important thing is that a cartoon was submitted. By who, and when it was drawn is, in my opinion, less important…

But it’s a very interresting footnote, Kristen; keep ‘em coming!

On a different note; is The Age in any way connected to the Times; or have they just ripped off the name and logo blatantly?

I really fail to see the reason why the Muhammed cartoons are attracting so many protests and so much violence. Even the Italian consulate has been closed in Libya, and Italy had nothing to do with this entire controversy!

Drawing cartoons of the Holocaust and boycotting Norwegian and Danish goods are not going to help this at all. I agree with your point that these Holocaust cartoons are considerably funnier than the Muhammed cartoons, but in a very real sense, neither of them are humorous at all.

I think both sides are blinded by their own notion of other religions and free speech.

And the 11th comandndmdent is: thou shalt inflate the numbers of slain Israelites, so that the Goyim percieves thee to be an eternal victim—even whilst ye rape them from afar.
