BBC Redesign

| | Comments (0)

One of the world's greatest newssite, designd-wise, the BBC News homepage, and the main homepage has undergone a slight realign (yup, that's right - align.).

There's done quite a bit on the visual side; but the true wonder has been happening on the coding side of it all!

Now, I usually read the BBC News homepage four times a day, as a ritual. In the mornings, before I turn on the Tv to actually watch the BBC News. Then, when I arrive at school - to read up on those stories that interrested me during the newscast.

Then, at the end of the day, on the bus home from school - and when I've finished the Independent, but still have some coffee left at my coffeebar.

This means that 50% of my time spent on the BBC News homepage, is spent via my palm.

Now, this may sometimes be a slow affair. That is, when I'm out of 3G-coverage, or when the bluetooth slows down, et cetera. That means that I see much of the site without CSS.

And let's just say, that before the change - that wasn't pretty.

But this is all changed, and though there are still some work to be done - the mobile browsing experience has been properly enhanced! Thanks, guys!
