Have a Finnish Christmas!

FinnairNothing puts me in such a Christmas mood as the increadibly cute commercial from Finnair; which I just saw on BBC World. It's Christmastime, folks!

The commercial is made by the Finnish Sek@Grey agency in Finland and the production (animation) was done by Anima Vitae.

It's a quite different airline ad but we feel that it communicates important issues for us and our customers: Safety, finnishness and realibility, says Jarkko Konttinen, Manager Marketing Communications in Finnair...

Whatever finnishness is...

This commercial got it all. It’s got a cute raindeer, it’s funny and it’s all about home and family. It’s really what christmas is all about. A truly genious commercial that makes you feel warm inside and really get’s you in the mood for christmas. It’s better than the Coka Cola commersials witch are to commercial…

Only bad thing with this one is that there are nothing red in it, and red is the christmas color.

Well, red is the traditional Christmas color… However, Christmasworld in Frankfurt, the International trade show for Christmas products and festive articles, reports that blue was one of the upcoming Christmas colors.

And if you remember 2002, you might remember the extreme presence of blue and silver. This ad was made, I think sometime around that time, and so the colors are very trendy for the time.

However, red has had a return during 2003-2004s “Retro-red-champagne”-style…

What’s in store for 2005s Christmas fashions, I’m still waiting to see, but most likely we’re going to see the same retro-style as in ‘03 and ‘04… Probably with a bit more white and silver this year…

I don’t think, however, we’ll see the /very/ traditional, clear red/green combo of the 90’s for quite some time, however, If that’s what you’re missing…
