Have No Fear, the iPhone is Here!

Or is it 'do fear, the iPhone is here'? Looking at Motorola's ROKR E1, my immediate thought was: “Well, let's just say it's not designed by 'Apple in California'”...

AppleMatters asked if this was really what Steve Jobs said was going to revolutionize the IT-world, but then again - AppleMatters tend not to like anything Apple does, so I don't take that statement into much consideration.

However, I do feel a bit disappointed, that Apple would allow it's software onto such an ugly device. Motorola isn't known to have the best design-team, and therefore, the agreement between Apple and Motorola, should've been extended to letting Motorola use some of Apple's design-team.

Coincidentally, I'm in the market for a new mobile phone for the moment, and therefore I easily spotted what I regard as one of the biggest misses on target for this phone: It's G2. Furthermore it's big.

Steve Jobs said this was a phone-version of the iPod Shuffle. Not the iPod. - Let me say - I wouldnever buy the iPod Shuffle, if my choices were as they are today - iPod Shuffle, iPod Nano or the iPod.

I have a consistent theory about technology - I don't want a device that does two things 50%. Then I'll rather buy two products that does the job 100%. This means - I'll rather buy a good mobile phone and an iPod, than the ROKR E1.

That's not to say that my brain isn't screaming: “C'mon! Buy it! It's the frickin' iPhone for cryin' out loud! You've waited for so long! The iPhone! Buy it! Buy it! Buy it, buy it, buy it! Buyitbuyitbuyit!!! You know you want it!” - especially regarding the fact that it is supposed to have full XHTML-support... But for the time being I'm going to have to keep the Samsung SGH-Z500 at the top of my wishlist...
